CNCB reports the whining of a wealth Catholic business man, who is threatening to jerk his donation to the Church because the Marxist Pope Francis has hurt his sensitive rich man’s fee-fees.
Pope Francis’ critical comments about the wealthy and capitalism have at least one wealthy capitalist benefactor hesitant about giving financial support to one of the church’s major fundraising projects.
At issue is an effort to raise $180 million for the restoration of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York being spearheaded by billionaire Ken Langone, the investor known for founding Home Depot, among other things.
Langone told CNBC that one potential seven-figure donor is concerned about statements from the pope criticizing market economies as “exclusionary,” urging the rich to give more to the poor and criticizing a “culture of prosperity” that leads some to become “incapable of feeling compassion for the poor.”
All I can say is, Langone was not donating for the right reasons, if he is capable of making threats like this.
Langone is a petty, selfish, avaricious excuse for a man.
Maybe if he actually read the book his religion is based on, he might find that part where Jesus drove the money changers like him out of the Temple. He might also want to meditate on the chances a rich a**hole like him has of getting into Heaven. Hint: It ranks right up there with the chance of a camel passing through the eye of a needle.
Just like Jesus overturned the tables of the money changers, sounds like Langone is upset because the Pope has upset his comfortable little apple cart.
Langone’s whining is typical of the 1% and their addiction to their wealth and privilege and sense of entitlement. They truly believe they are $DEITY’s anointed, and should be kowtowed to like the Kings of Creation they imagine themselves to be. Little tin gods. They make the Robber Barons of a century ago look like Socialist Saints in comparison. The rules do not apply them. It is the sickness of inequality that is eating out the heart of our society right now.
As for me, I am siding with Pope Francis on this one.
He is busy knocking the conservative, medieval minded bishops and cardinals out of power throughout the Church.
Here is a suggestion to the Pope: take a long hard look at Cardinal Dolan.
