Bob Woodward of Watergate fame has once again stepped up to the plate of history. He is publishing a book that basically exposes the fact that Donald Trump, president of the United States, is totally incapable emotionally or intellectually, of performing the duties of that office. And the only buffer against his idiocy and madness are those surrounding him who have to do such things as hide papers from him and countermand his orders to the military in regard to attacking Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, “Let’s f–king kill him! Let’s go in. Let’s kill the f–king lot of them.”
We are talking about the President of the United States. The most powerful office in the world.

September 4 at 3:09 PMIf you take seriously the revelations in Bob Woodward’s book “Fear” — and how can you not, given Woodward’s nearly half-century of scoops about Washington’s elite? — then it’s time for President Trump to be removed from office via the 25th Amendment because he is clearly “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.” That will never happen, because the Cabinet is packed with Trump toadies who compete with each other to deliver the most fawning praise of their supreme leader. But on the merits, it should happen.
Of course, it doesn’t take Woodward’s revelations to demonstrate Trump’s unfitness for office. Trump demonstrates it on a daily basis with his campaign-rally rants and Twitter tirades. Just in the past day, the president has demanded that the Justice Department drop criminal investigations against his supporters because it could cost Republicans House seats, and suggested that NBC lose its broadcast license because, in essence, he objects to the criticism he receives on MSNBC. A senior Justice Department official told Axios: “It shows how POTUS thinks DOJ should be used: As a weapon against enemies and a tool to win elections.” In a normal world — a world where Congress was not controlled by blind Republican partisans — the fact that Trump continues to make demands so at odds with the rule of law would be cause for his impeachment and removal.
President Trump is unfit for office. Bob Woodward’s ‘Fear’ confirms it.
Interesting how release of this book (well preview of content) coincides with the sham and travesty of the Kavanaugh hearings.
The members of the GOP have clearly made a conscious decision. They now put party, power, money, and serving their corporate and oligarchic overlords, above any consideration of Country, Constitution, and Rule of Law. One of their prime objectives right now before the coming midterm elections is to pack the courts with conservatives who will ignore precedent and law in order to support the oligarchy and the corporations. That is their focus right now.
This is a Constitutional crisis, people. This is not just crazy town. This is an existential threat to the continued existence of the Republic. This is an existential threat to the rest of the world. We are not just a laughing stock to the rest of the world, we are a threat to their and our own existence.
Whether by nukes or continuing to ignore science as the planet rapidly warms past every tipping point to disaster, we seem to be toast.
Sen. Donnelly must fight the elevation of Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. This is a crisis moment in history. This is not normal. The GOP has trashed all protocol, refusing to release documents, and running the hearing like a kangaroo court. The Democrats MUST grow a spine and resist.
