Waiting for their socialist handout, are they?
Hypocrites. Un-american scum.
Tell those Texans to go to their garages, get their garden hoses, buckets, and shovels, and get their lazy socialist-wannabe rear ends to work putting those fires out without any federal intervention, like the manly patriotic, independent, and self-supporting Texans they are.
Begging for aid from the socialists. What has Texas come to? What color has their blood turned?
President Barack Obama may be visiting Texas on Tuesday, with stops in El Paso and a fundraiser in Austin, but he won’t be feeling the love — at least not from a growing chorus of unhappy GOP lawmakers who see the administration’s refusal to designate the wildfire-battered state a disaster area the latest slap in the face to the very Republican Lone Star State.
The refusal by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to give Texas disaster status, and the federal aid that goes with it, follows on the state’s ongoing fights with the administration. The state and the Environmental Protection Agency have been battling over permitting under the Clean Air Act — the federal agency even took over some state functions — and NASA’s surprising decision not to give Houston, home to the Johnson Space Center, a retired space shuttle, opting instead to send them to California, Florida and New York.
“You can almost make the case the administration has a vendetta against Texas,” said Republican Rep. Michael Burgess.
This of course from a state whose governor has been threatening to secede from the Union of Socialist States of America.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry fired up an anti-tax “tea party” Wednesday with his stance against the federal government and for states’ rights as some in his U.S. flag-waving audience shouted, “Secede!”
An animated Perry told the crowd at Austin City Hall — one of three tea parties he was attending across the state — that officials in Washington have abandoned the country’s founding principles of limited government. He said the federal government is strangling Americans with taxation, spending and debt.
Perry repeated his running theme that Texas’ economy is in relatively good shape compared with other states and with the “federal budget mess.” Many in the crowd held signs deriding President Barack Obama and the $786 billion federal economic stimulus package.
Perry called his supporters patriots. Later, answering news reporters’ questions, Perry suggested Texans might at some point get so fed up they would want to secede from the union, though he said he sees no reason why Texas should do that.
“There’s a lot of different scenarios,” Perry said. “We’ve got a great union. There’s absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that. But Texas is a very unique place, and we’re a pretty independent lot to boot.”
What a bunch of crybabies. They stub their manly toes on a few little wildfires, and when that nasty old socialist from Kenya, Herr Obama, does not rush down and immediately kiss it well and save them, they get their fee-fees all hurt.
Why, it really must be so, Obama and the Federal Government must just have a vendetta or something against them. Nothing they have ever said or done would suggest the opposite is the real gospel truth.
Pathetic hypocrites. Why do the American people elect these cretins?
The sad thing is, the wildfires have caused quite a bit of devastation. This article has a lot of photos, and some amazing satellite imagery, showing the plumes of smoke trailing out from the fires as seen from space.
I would suggest it is equally tragic that Texas is stuck with such bad leadership by the Republicans, however.
