Nice that the staff of the Wild Wings Restaurant in North Charleston, South Carolina, could celebrate the anniversary of the March on Washington, and Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech about how we some day will all sit down together in peace, no matter our color, by demonstrating the deeply embedded blind racism and hatred that seems still to control the minds and emotions of so many Americans. One White woman informs the manager she is “uncomfortable” about a party of 25 Black people being seated in the same room with her. So the manager throws the Black people out of the restaurant.
No racism involved, of course. The restaurant tells us that on it’s Facebook page: Wild Wings Restaurant North Charleston
After all, President Obama is hated by these same people for “Being President While Black”. The GOP is running around the country during the August recess telling their racist supporters they will find some way to impeach him, although they have not found any grounds. But then, they were saying that as soon as started his campaign. After all, didn’t you notice, he is BLACK.
Think this is off the wall? Exaggerated? Well, yesterday bow tie dripping Tucker Carlson’s web site The Daily Caller publishes a piece on the new dog added to the White House household, and sums the article up with this sentence: “The Obamas do not have any white dogs.”
No racism here, obviously. Just clear, concise reporting of the facts. “The Obamas do not have any white dogs.” How could anyone possible hear dog whistle’s of racism in the distance?
And Maureen Dowd ended her column on the impeachment clown posse in the NYTimes yesterday with this statement: “For some of the rodeo clowns clamoring for impeachment around the country, Barack Obama’s real crime is presiding while black. ”
A group of 25 African Americans waited two hours to get in a Wild Wing Cafe restaurant in North Charleston, South Carolina, only to be asked to leave almost immediately after entering the restaurant because a white patron felt “threatened” by them. One member of the group took his complaint to Facebook when the corporate office of the restaurant did not call him back.
According to Brown:
She (the shift manager) said there’s a situation where one of our customers feels threatened by your party, so she asked us not to seat you in our section, which totally alarmed all of us because we’re sitting there peaceably for two hours. Obviously, if we were causing any conflict, we would have been ejected out of the place hours before.
A member of Brown’s group then begin to videotape the situation. That’s when the shift manager asked them to leave and refused to seat them.
As Brown explained:
I asked her – I want to be clear with you. I said, so you’re telling me I have to leave. She said I have a right to deny you service. I said so you’re asking me to leave because you’re upset because he was recording you, after we’ve waited for two hours, and after you’ve already pretty much discriminated on us, and she answered yes.
There’s a brand new adorable member of the First Family, everyone, and if you read the Washington Post or the Huffington Post or Buzzfeed or whatever you’ll probably see all kinds of listicles and memes about how cute it is.
It’s a dog named “Sunny.” Apparently it’s a girl and it was born in 2012 in Michigan, where the unemployment rate was 8.8 percent last month. It is the Obamas’ second dog, after “Bo.”
With the addition of Sunny, the Obamas now have two black Portuguese water dogs.
The Obamas do not have any white dogs.
ON the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, Kerry Bentivolio, a Michigan congressman, has a dream, too: to impeach the nation’s first black president.
“If I could write that bill and submit it, it would be a dream come true,” the freshman Republican told a local G.O.P. club meeting Monday in Birmingham, Mich., in a video posted on YouTube and reported by BuzzFeed.
Bentivolio graciously conceded that he’d have to come up with some grounds first. “I went back to my office and I have had lawyers come in,” he said. “And these are lawyers, well — Ph.D.’s in history — I said, ‘Tell me how I can impeach the president of the United States. What evidence do you have?’ You’ve got to have the evidence.”
Bentivolio is the perfect avatar of the impeachment fever gripping a G.O.P. that’s unmoored from reality, given that he once admitted in a court deposition, “I have a problem figuring out which one I really am, Santa Claus or Kerry Bentivolio.” That’s why he sometimes used the pronoun “we.”
The Democrats never impeached W. and they had real grounds: starting a war on false premises and sanctioning torture. “The Republican Party is in a constant struggle between its ego and its id,” Axelrod says, “and the id has mostly won out lately.”
It isn’t the president who should leave. It’s the misguided lawmakers trying to drive him out.
For some of the rodeo clowns clamoring for impeachment around the country, Barack Obama’s real crime is presiding while black.
